Madame President,
Giving the recent exposure of your Minister of State for
Presidential Affairs sexual indiscretions, I urge you to
immediatelly terminate in service in government on the
grounds of moral and ethical impropriety. As you
represent the role and respect of women, in ths Liberian
society, Africa and the world, your failure to act will
be an affront to all women. Mr. Knuckles should not
blame the photos, but his immoral act, alone. He has
brought disgrace to your office and his. For this he
must be fire, no if and or buts about this. |
|
2/19/2007 5:13:39 PM |
We the people of Liberia do accept Mr.Knuckles apology
but the are no axception to the law and he is has to
face the consequences. He must step down or be dismissed
to send a clear message to others who feel they are
above the rule of law. |
|
2/19/2007 6:16:12 PM |
His apology was not an apology. His apology center
mostly on Snowe. If he is going to apologise I don''t
think Snowe should be mention in this apology. Most
importantly I will say apologise to the government and
people of Liberia and then step down as a gesture of
this early demorcracy that we in Liberia are trying to
establish. |
|
2/19/2007 6:22:10 PM |
Willis must understand that when you take on public
office, a man who wanted to run for President of the
Republic, everything about his life the public needs to
know, and will be examined.
Well If these photo''s had not come out, we would be
believing another side of Willis, the side that is
building and renovating churches in his home town etc.
What else is in your closet?
I am deeply sorry for his family, but he is a disgrace
to our Government, and the women of Liberia, should be
outraged, and speak out on what some men are doing to
our daughters.
Willis, this is your life you have chosen your path of
racklessness without a thought of your wife and
children. As you say "pointless embarrassment", this is
not pointless, you were cut in the act having sex with
two female, an unbecoming behavior for a married man.
I hope your pastor will have the conviction of asking
you to step down from any office in the church until you
repent and see the wrong you have done.
Your letter of apology is insulting, instead of focusing
on your apology, you are stressing on what Snowe and his
wife did, that is the life style you all are involved
in. YOUR LIFE IS NOW GOING TO BE EXIMINED BY THE MEDIA,
AND RIGHTLY SO. YOU NOW NEED TO EXAMINE YOUR OWN LIFE,
AND STEP DOWN QUIETLY. I PRAY, GOD WILL HELP YOU TO DO
THE RIGHT THING.(RESIGN) WILLIS.
YOU HAVE SHAMED OUR PRESIDENT
YOUR COUSIN IN AMERICA |
|
2/19/2007 6:28:42 PM |
I can not believe that Mr. Knuckles is blaming other
people for his reckless behavior. Shame on him. |
|
2/19/2007 6:42:48 PM |
If Knucklehead was deep heartedly sorry for his shameful
actions he would have resigned. What kind of advice can
come from a dark heart incomparison to a pure heart?
Answer dark, phoney advice. If the President retains him
this will be the beginning of her downfall in the eyes
of God. Because "Righteousness exalteth a nation and sin
is a reproach to any people." |
|
2/19/2007 6:53:44 PM |
Hi Fellow Liberians, it''s sad to know that there are
people out there hoping that our newly organized
government, under President Johnson fails. If Mr.
Knuckles behavoir has justified his reason for
resignation, than so be it. The government has not a
thing to do with it. Mr. Knuckles morals are his, and
not the Liberian Government affairs. |
|
2/19/2007 7:03:04 PM |
I would advise the President to set up a commission to
probe this entire matter. Said Commission should be
professional. Moivabah Fofana |

Mr. Knuckles should step down and if the girls in the
photos are under age then he should be charge with
endengering the welfare of the girls. |
|
2/19/2007 7:35:04 PM |
Mr. Knuckles attempts and apology but blames others only
because he has been exposed. This is not really an
aplogy but a venue to point fingers back. He needs to
take full responsibility and do the honorable think by
resigning. He among many other Liberian men carrying out
this behavior is a disgrace to our fragile nation. |
|
2/19/2007 7:40:35 PM |
MR. Knuckles tried very had to explain the whole story |
|
2/19/2007 8:05:18 PM |
This is rediculus. People like Willis Knuckles should be
uprooted from public office. You, Mr. Knuckles do not
have a private life as a public official. You have
disgraced your office, the president and your family.
Moreover, you have the nerves to blame Mr. Snowe and his
wife for your immorality. You are not sorry for your
act. You are just sorry you got exposed. What a disgrace
to our nation; and you are just one of the hundreds of
old, sick, pedifiles in Liberia, exploiting the poverty
of innocent girls. You should be tried for rape. I''m
sure those girls are below the age of 16yrs. May God
continue to expose and uproot such immorality from our
society. This is the reason we had to go through a
terrible civil war and it seems like nothing has
changed. My sympathies to your wife and daughters. |
|
2/19/2007 8:12:14 PM |
MR SNOW CAN BE SEEN AS A NOTOROUS CRIMINAL. HE IS NOT
ALONE IN THIS. HE IS TRULY A TAYLOR FOLLOWER. |
|
2/19/2007 8:16:10 PM |
My people, funny thing can''t finished. I thought these
kind of things were intended for the movies. To actually
see it! IIIIIIIII swear. Now my husband is telling me to
do the Knuckles. Can you imagine? |
|
2/19/2007 8:29:09 PM |
I am apalled at the publishing of such a photograph.
The numerous reckless decisions made by us from the
continent of Africa have made us the laughing stock of
our counterparts in the so called civilized world.
The publisher of this website should be ashamed of
herself. This is a disgrace to Liberians in particular
and Africans in general.
A very poor discretion was used.
The stupidity is not the indecretion of Mr. Knuckles but
the publishing of such a picture world wide.
Kindly think about the repecussions and
remember what our Savior Christ said to the accusers of
the lady who was accused of prostitution, and about to
be stoned to death? " Let he that is without sin cast
the first Stone"
You should know the result, everyone of the accusers
dropped their stones and walked away.
May God forgive you for what you''ve done and I hope
Mr.Knuckles will see it fit to repent to GOD and then
forgive all of you ,who have cast your stones.

Liberians cannot afford this type of embarassment. Mr
Knuckles is aware of the distraction actions such as his
could bring to an administration still seeking
acceptance after the bebacle of the past fourteen years.
While Mr Snowne''s behavior is dispicable, Mr Knuckles
must promptly resign for the sake of the State. |
|
2/19/2007 10:11:04 PM |
Quite frankly, I hail Mr. Knuckles for being so kind to
discuss his private life. The act to smear his image and
scandalize his name without fear is evident how far we
are from being a functional society governed by the rule
of law. Mr Knuckles can whatever kind of sex he wants.
This is his privacy and can not be used by anyone to
blackmail him or smear his image. How many of us will
even admit our sexual behavior, fantasies, or simply put
"sexual styles." Not pointing any fingers, some of us
like it hot, slow, rough, double team, threesome,
two-to-one, in the shower, on the floor, and the list
goes on. Have you thought about anybody violating your
privacy, and using it to smear you reputation? Come on
friends, we need to be practical and realistic. The
Legislature should use this to begin to promulgate laws
that protects individual privacy. Especially at the
time, when our nation experiencing the power of
information technology. There must be laws that punishes
citizens who misuse the Internet for activities such as
the one involving a well-respected and admired citizen.
I do not know Mr. Knuckles, but we ought to use our
education and common sense when addressing some of these
issues. Have we learn any lessons from this senseless
war???
Feel free to contact me and let''s opine.

He or she who has no sin should cast the first stone.
Mr. Knuckles is truly a man of integrity and should also
ask God''s forgiveness. Mydea and Edwin Snowe and the
mystery female legislator should not have soon forgotten
their wanton and whore poor joe lives they lived during
Taylor''s sexual exploitative years of the Liberian
youths. To think Mydea tried to bribe using someone''s
sex pictures, can she tell the Liberian people the
number of men she has slept with and not mentioning
Charles Taylor and now his Son in Law Edwin Snowe who
was married to Taylor''s daughter? One wonders what kind
of unholy pornographies they have stached away if they
can go that far to buy and collect other people
misguided adventures. One day the Snowe''s tapes will
show up and who knows who will be their show? Leave the
repentant man alone perverts. |

there are thousand of Knuckles around Liberia. It is a
lesson to all Liberian especially men. |

As a public figure, he is has been set good example. |
|
2/20/2007 12:53:43 AM |
Knuckles is a disgrace to the Goverbment. He should, or
be made to, resign. He should know that he is a public
figure, and as such, people have the right to know about
his misbehavior. There is nothing like "private life" in
this case. He should shot his mouth and resign quietly.

GIRLFRIENDS.... |
|
2/20/2007 1:30:57 AM |
One important question is when did you do this Mr.
Knuckles? And another is do you have any word of apology
to give to those downtrodden girls or your sex toys,
whatever you choose to call them? And last but not the
least, did Snowe and his wife take out your clothes for
you and put you on top of your sex toys? You are surely
a very useless man. |
|
2/20/2007 1:42:03 AM |
When will the men of Liberia stop disgracing our native
land and their families ? When we do wrong in the sight
of God, let us not blame others. Ask God for forgiveness
and do that sin no more. My advice to Knuckles. |
|
2/20/2007 1:49:30 AM |
Anyway, women are always the victims of sexual
exploitation and abuse by government officials ( most
especially girls).
President Sirleaf promised to protect women rights, but
with individual like Mr. Knuckles by her side, there''s
no wonder that the President only used women for her
campaign ( just to get their votes).
Mr. Knuckles need to resign, he did a good thing by
admitting to the allegation. And for once, let there be
some good examples shown in Liberia. But again i am not
surprised that Mr. Knuckles is saying he will not
resign.
Allegations like rape, violation of women rights, sexual
exploitation by government officials against girls and
women are not the president major concernt for now, so
she might likely encourage Mr. Knuckles to stay put (
Don.t resign even if they likes it or not!! we suffer
too mush to rule this country and we most enjoy every
bit of it!! I am the President, just do your job and few
days or weeks from now, everything will dies down... and
i need you in this government) likely that''s what the
President will tell him ( Mr. Knuckles)
It''s a ball game, and they will play it.
The only thing we can hope for, is God blessing for our
women and girls of Liberia.

this has become a international issue now, what would a
butt naked man say and do to represent our country when
his orgy photo is on the internet. He should have
resigned instead od shifting blame. Did Snowe and his
wife organized those women for him? Did he do it at the
will and pleasure of Snowe and his wife? who took his
clothes off? I am too shame for him. |

There are skeletons in everyone''s closet. Knuckles is
not the only one doing it. They are many in high
positions doing it everyday. So, he should be left

Mr. Knuckles should resign and safe Madam Sirleaf and
our new government the hurt and pain which seem to be
the symtoms of an ulcer destroying the inner core of our
young and determined government.I beg Madam Sirleaf to
find another who is as qualified as Mr. Knuckle but will
bring dignity and integrety to our government. It is
said that birds of the same feather flock together, but
I certainly believe that Madam Sirleaf is not in the
flock with Mr.Knuckle, Mr. Snowe and others who are
determine to bring dishonor to our young but determined
government. The new Liberians will not stand for such
disgrace and dishonesty. Madam Sirleaf, you know better.
Please take protect our women and children. Please find
the honorable men among us help you built a glorious
future for young men and women. Thanks. |

I think people should get out of people''s private life.
As long as these ladies were not raped, what is wrong
with it. Those opposing Kuckles are not making life
difficult for him alone, but for the ladies as well.
Writer Saye mentioned the case of Foley in the US. The
fact of the matter is that Foley fooled around
teenagers. If his affairs were with adults, the story
was going to be different. Leave the poor man alone. He
is a good public servant. Let him continue to do the
good thing he is doing for our country, liberia. |
|

Well, it is not a strange thing in the society, only that
it has been exposed; the so-called Americo Liberians
have been abusing our sisters simply because they are
capable of earning with the country''s funds. But this
time, it will finally come to rest; knuckles must resign
or else strange thinhs will happen in this country. Why
should he abused our sisters and his daughters are
enjoying in the United States with our country''s money?
The evil that men do ,live after them. Eccl. chatper

time for God to expose him publicly. |

I believe Mr. Knuckles resign without any questins. If
Liberia should go forward and be seen as a country of
decency, then a person of such high position should not
be involved in ponograhy. His execuse of Snow trying to
bring him down is meaningless. The Liberian people need
to pressure on the Prsident to fire him if he does not
resign gracefull. |
|
2/20/2007 5:20:50 AM |
You see,the time has come for us to stand the the
principles of which ournation was founded.I think
Knuckles has just admitted to his immorality and should
step down or be made to step down. |
|
2/20/2007 5:27:56 AM |
I honestly think Mr. Knuckles is an embarrassment to
himself. We have been and continue to pray that every
foundation that is planted in our nation that is not of
God will be "up-rooted" and it has began. Mr. Knuckles
must now make amends with God whom he has sinned against
and then his wife and children. This has been his
life-style and engaging in his kind of act is an
abmonination to God. Such filthy act! |
|
2/20/2007 5:35:08 AM |
Due to the fact that Mr.Knuckles has
admitted to the sexual act, I would suggest that he
resign.
This is an abuse of the STATE''s office
power.
I think the best for mother "Liberia" and for future
precedence; resign Mr. Knuckles. It was your choice and
now you must face the consequences.
We forgave you but justice must begin at the higher
levels of power as the former speaker did. |
|

This is a warning to the president not to point fingers
to other people. Least did she know that it was
happening in her own house. He should resign or be
dismissed from the government. |

2/20/2007 6:22:42 AM |
he should be asked to resign immediately, we have to set
moral standards, what kind of message is the president
sending? |
|
2/20/2007 6:27:52 AM |
I believe he should step down. But ultimately if these
women where of age and not minors this is more of a
personal matter |
|
2/20/2007 6:31:25 AM |
First of, No man is perfect. Second, regardless of
whatever position a person holds he or she is a person
first. We all have skeletons in our closets. Mr Knuckles
is a man. A good man I might add. Despite his sexual
fantasies(which we all have), he is a man that governs
himself well. He is a positive role model for me and any
dedicated Liberian. What Mr. Knuckles have done for his
country and fellow Liberians speaks for itself. What he
did behind close doors has no effect on the way he does
his job for his country or his community. His family is
what concerns me first, then his fellow Liberians.
Who the hell is Edwin Snowe?? A former rebel! A killer!
I would take Mr. Knuckles as a respectable government
official than Edwin Snowe anyday!
Who should lose their job? Edwin stupid ass Snowe! Ex
combatant that was never rehabilated and works for the
Liberian government.Ha Ha Ha!! A RAPIST!! Please!!!
Liberian girls far and near, rich or poor, do me a
favor. You are not a victim unless you choose to be. We
all make choices in this life. Choose well and live with
it. Choose wrong and deal with it. I don''t think Mr.
Knuckles had a gun in his hand and forced this
encounter. Something I''m sure Snowe had done in his
lifetime.
To all you Liberians with no sin, cast the first stone.
To Mr. Edwin Snowe, you are a SORE LOSER! If it wasn''t
for the AK 47, you will be NOTHING. If it wasn''t for
Mr. Taylor, the likes of you won''t exist. Look where
your father in law/ mentor is now? I think you should be
cell mates. This ain''t no gangsta or rebel government.
The AK 47 and Beretta won''t help you now nigga! You
should have never been there in the first place. Do you
know how devastated I was to find out that the likes of
this uneducated rebel had a position in this government?
Paying for a diploma doesn''t mean you work for it.
Mr. Knuckles, keep ya head up! Your family loves you.
Your wife knows obstacles may arise. She has been your
wife for 37 years. That''s love and loyalty. My prayers
go out to her and the rest of your family. PEACE!

THE MINISTER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS; BY
ADMITTING THAT HE HAD PREVIOUSLY FOUGHT AGAINST FORMER

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf needs to take a bold
step in the direction of ensuring that ''Decency-
Standardized Code of Conduct/Ethics'' in Public Service
for government officials are upheld, maintained and
enforced throughout her administration.
Moreover, this reckless behavior of a prominent-key-
official (Willie Knuckles) of her administration must
not be seen as the norm. I sincerely ask Mr. Knuckles to
submitt his Letter of Resignation to The President

Honorable and politically expedient thing to do in an

Willis, we are very happy that you stood up like a man.
There are many who could rather kill themselves than do
what you did. The Liberian people should now realize
that these so called high class motels called hotels
with the so called young enteperneurs are just common
criminals that have made pornographies of so many
unknown so called respected Liberian men and women.
These so called motels and hotels should immediately be
investigated and owners be charged with illegally
obtaining and producing explicit pornographies without
the consent of all of the actors. Beware Liberians this
is just one client used for blackmail wait until the
criminals can not get their way. To think that after
approaching Willis, Mardea and Edwin and their
supporters could show their true colors? They had to
have gotten the picture from a hotel room secretly
recorded with the state of the art technology. One last
thought, do the Snowes have sex pictures of Charles
Taylor doing Mardea Snowe or Taylor doing his son-in-law
Edwin Snowe so he could get where he got. There is
enough shit out there for every one to get some.

He should have apologised to the two ladies. He refused
to admit that the affair caused them serious
embarassment. But I strongly detest the idea that the
ladies were exploited by him. They did not complain about
any mistreatment prior to the internet publication. In
concluding, I think president Sirleaf should ask him to
step down for this moral abberration and Mr.&Mrs. Snowe
and all those responsible for the exposure should be
questioned for polluting the minds of the public.

2/20/2007 8:55:16 AM |
I personally do not think Mr. Knuckles apology was
sincere at all. Mr.Knuckle was force to come out with
the statement because he was under pressure. It was not
from his heart. This should serve as an example to the
others.Mr. Knuckle how could you feel if it was your
daughter or any of your female relatives in that photo?
Instaed of gaving out money for sex you should open an
educational trust fund young ladies. And on the other
hand, young ladies you all need to do better then that.
There is more to life then beauty, money, and men. I
must tell you education will take you where these things
can''t. As for Snowe, there is a old saying. What goes

the sex scandal of Willie is repugnant to state
functionary. He has disgraced the state therefore he
should had resigned to protect the moral character of
state actors |

He has to go. We have no more time for this in our
coutry. |

I read the statement that is said to be Mr. Knuckles''
and did not find an admission from him that he was the
one in the "photograph" - and taking responsibility for
it. What I took from the statement was that he was sorry
for the photograph (which I have not seen) been made
public (and the assassination of his good reputation
built over the last 40 years) and also blaming others
for this situation. For now this appears to be a moral
and political issue- to played out in the public and
more importantly for Mr. Knuckles'' political life how
it will play with his boss, the President. This should
then serve as precedent for how other officials who find
themselves in this position in the future should expect
to be treated by the President-make a public statement
that does not deny or accept responsibility for such
moral lapses but blame others for these kinds of moral
problems. Mr. Knuckles is hardly alone with this kind of
behavior in Liberia and with the kind of politics we
read about from home, the President should expect more
of this in the future. So the way she will deal with
this particular situation will be very important.

On a continuous base we as Liberians face humiliation
for our deeds. Our leaders place themselves in
compromising situations, privacy is violated and total
lack of integrity, morals and ethics seem to be a common
practice. There is a need to focus on positive issues.
Create employment opportunities, scholarship programs,
trap into our mineral resources, increase the number of
investors, and improve security, healthcare and so much
more. Why have we occupied ourselves with plotting,
political feuds, greed and black mail while our people
suffer .Things have to change. Raquel |

He did the politically correct thing. Also, I''m sure he
meant the apology that he directed at his wife and
family. His kids hold him in very high esteem. He must
be terribly embarrased |
|
2/20/2007 11:22:31 AM |
I feel that Mr. Knuckles has loss all moral grounds
required of the occupant of his current position. He
should do himself and the Liberian society a much
desired favor by resigning his position.

Knuckles should resign. The president wanted
transparency and she has it now. What has she done?
Nothing. Not to mention the money wasted on a drawn out
senate confirmation hearing when there was en underlying
personal vendetta. |
|
2/20/2007 1:30:24 PM |
Ok people, dont misunderstand me here ok. But Bill
Clinton did his in the White House, the Oval Office, I
guess and yet remained President. What is sad about this
episode to me is that it is not being exposed becuase
those exposing it find the act morally wrong. Had this
been the case, it should have been out long ago. Snowe
is exploiting this situation to his own advantage. After
all, the two ladies in the photo appear to be adults and
not teenage or very young girls who appear to be acting
out a sexual fantasy to say the least. I dont know how
many of us especially Liberian men can climb the moral
high ground on this one. The bottom line for me is that
Snowe who revealed this photo did not do it becuase he
believes that the act is morally wrong and that he is
above such things. If in the mind of others, those
ladies are being abused by Mr. Knuckles due to his
wealth and power, then Snowe is simply exploiting the
issue and further degrading those women, let alone Mr.
Knuckles, through his decision to reveal the photo just
to settle scores. This is sad.

This is why Liberia will always be the same no matter
what or who is the President, if Ellen does not make the
right call and let him go then she has made my point,
she is not right to be President in the first place. |

2/20/2007 2:24:51 PM |
The fool should step down. It is hard for old dog to
leave its old ways. This is what they have been doing in
the past including corruption that has placed our
country in the posistion she is in today. The crook
should the leave the government immediately. |
|
2/20/2007 2:31:50 PM |
The honorable thing for Mr. Knuckles to do is to step
down quietly from public life to avoid further
embarrassment. He should step down only because he was
stupid enough to have had his photograph taken in such a
compromising position, which is not representative of an
honorable person or a government official.
As to his sex life, if the ladies involved were adults,
that is his private life and disgrace. He did not commit
any crime. There is no law that prohibits a man from
having sex with more than one woman at a time. On the
other hand, if the women involved were minors, Mr.
Knuckles should not only resign but he should be
prosecuted.
The excuse that Snow and his wife were the instigators
of the photos being released is a lame excuse. The fact
that the photos were taken should tell a story about Mr.
Knuckles. That he is ill responsible and should not be
trusted with such high government office. What ever
propelled him to have his photograph taken in such a
compromising position is an indication and manifestation
of his ill responsibility.
Liberian people need to understand that sexual
preference and method of implementation is not only
available to people with money. It is perpetrated at all
levels of society, except that others are not stupid to
have their photographs taken, not even as a joke. You
never know where it will land. Mr. Knuckles, you loose,
you must step down or get dismissed by the President.
There can be no question about it. The display of the
photos has eroded all form of respect you once had from
the Liberian people.

has anyone ask the question if these women have been
used or abused. from the picture it looks like they are
willing. Let''s not put all the blame on his man, has
anyone taken the time to spake with these women, to find
out what really happen. people have sex all the time,
what fantasy they have is their business. this was done
in the privacy of his home, no one has the right to
invade his privacy. if those girl were under age I would
be the first person to ask him to resign. this has
nothing to do with the man''s ability to do his job. we
are too quick to pass judgement. To err is human to
forgive is devine. this is a private matter between the
man and is family. NOT ALL OF OUR WOMAN ARE ABUSE OR
MISUSED. some goes with motive and knowledge. he who is
without a sin cast the first stone. from a woman |

The Bible says what is done in secret shall surely come
to light; therefore, it about time for all those who are
doing things in the darkness to be exposed in Jesus
name. The Scripture also says, in I Corinthians 6:
16-19, "What? know ye not that he which is joined to an
harlot is one body? for two , saith he shall be one
flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one
spirit. Flee fornication every sin that a man doeth is
without the body; but he that committeth fornication
sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that
your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in
you, which he have of God, and ye are not your own?
Moreover, according to I Corinthians 3: 16-17, it
says,"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and
that the Spirit of dwelleth in you? If any man defile
the temple of God him shall God destroy; for the temple
of God is Holy, which temple ye are. Everyone will be
exposed one at a time, because lots of augly things are
happening in Liberia nowaday. When you are pointing your
finger at some body someone elses is watching you as
well. I do believe, his apology was not sincere, because
how can you apologized and at the same time blaming
someone for your wrong doing? One thing I want President
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, to know is that those who are
very close to her she should be very careful with them
because one day we are going to hear some terrible about
her, I know what I am talking about. Thanks |

abuse of a woman right what are you guys acting like if
that was you you won''t do the same every man have the
dram of sleeping with two women at that same time and
his came true if that was him and his wife with another
woman what will you people say i mean its sorry to say
that he was sleeping around but that is his private life
withe his position in government mr knuckles i think you
should let that go resign and move on with your life but
know within yourself that you did not abuse any of those
only if thay were still in high school then you are
wroung for what you did and should go to court for that

To hell with all of that mess in Liberia. Don''t
Liberians have more to do and think about when Liberia
is in the worse ship on the planet? The oldest African
Republic? Is this true? Dirty, nasty and stink! Why are
you all acting like children? Some of you have the worse
sexy habits than one can ever imagine! Take care of the
affairs of the Liberia and leave Mr. Knuckles along when
you all are doing worse things. He was black mailed.
Remember, what goes around comes around. Is this the way
to run a country to check what a person does sexually?
At least he was with women where he should be and not
men! This is from concerned Liberians in the U.S. |

WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND. THE
WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH. HOW DARE YOU SAY, YOU WILL NOT
RESIGN. YOU MUST RESIGN IMMEDIATELY AND REPENT OF YOUR
SINS AND GET A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS THE KING

It is quite unfortunate that such a personal act has
been distributed worldwide. However, it is time that we
address and shed light on the issues of "exploitation or
lack of education" in the Liberian community. We need to
educate our women and especially young girls so that
they look for jobs rather than sell there bodies.
The way in which this matter (visually) has been put in
the media is unforgiving. It comes back to the “lack of
education”. No educated person will go to the point of
displaying such pictures where children are most likely
to see them.
As much as the Minister was put in a peculiar situation,
it is a big shame and disgrace on the entire nation that
individuals will go to that extent to humiliate a man
and his family. Is it wrong choosing between loosing
ones honor and being blackmailed? The fact that the
Minister choose to have his private life portrayed
negatively both nationally and internationally rather
than agreeing to assist in a cover up speaks of his
character. |

Is president Sirleaf fighting only financial immorality?
if yes, than she can unconciounsly turn a blind eye to
Mr. Knuckles disgraceful and disrespectful act towards
those women and the women of Liberia; but if she is
fighting immorallity in general, than the Minister
should be removed from his position. His appology proves
that he''s guilty.
Madam President, your decision in this sex scandal will
determine whether you are an Iron lady on certian
immoralities and sponge lady on others.
Madam Sirleaf, if you let Mr. Knuckles off the hook, you
will be seen as a the devil in an angle wings (playing
standing for women right in the public eyes while
protecting your powerful friends).
Madam President; It is time for you to practice what you
preach. Not only the women in Liberia are watching but
women from all around the world with high moral
standards are watching.
Please don''t allow this man to make Liberians and the
rest of the world to question your leadership ablity and
government you sphere head as well.
This man is dark hearted and don''t stanup for him, let
him go down by himself. |

I think this is a disgrace for Liberia. Knuckles needs
to step down his moral authority has been undermined
furthermore this image could ruin Ellen''s goverment
credibility in the international community. It''s about
time that Liberia stops rewarding and forgiving
improperity and criminal behavior. In Liberia when you
are a killer you can become president or an official in
government this none sense has to stop! |

What everyone in Libeia needs to be looking at is Edwin
Snowe and his attempt to undermind the government of
Ellen Sirleaf. Seemingly you all haven''t had enough of
the war and suffering. You need another uneducated,
money hungry, conniving scumb bag to get you back to
where you were. And this is the place you all want us to
leave where we are and come to? You''re crazy. Your''ll
got to do better. Moral is zero. This is not the place
to bring up your child. |

2/20/2007 9:03:04 PM |
I am hoping that all the Willie Knuckles of Liberia fess
up to thier actions. I am sure Edwin Snowe, His wife
Madea White & every man or woman in Liberia has some
skelton in their closet. It is about time that we as
Liberians stop behaving like animals but like God''s
people. If we continue down this path, I am afraid that
Liberia is going to become the next Sodom & Gomorrah. No
one can help Liberia but Liberians. And as a Liberian
living in another country, I have watched with extreme
embarassment & pain how our belove country have been run
down by insignificant, uneducated people like Edwin
Snowe. I am certainly not condoning Willie Knuckles''
actions neither am I impressed by Madea White & her
uneducated husband''s behavior. They did this because of
thier own selfish motive, they most certainly were not
trying to correct the corrupt behavior that is the norm
in Liberia. Madea White should be the last person to
ruin another person''s reputation, from what everyone
know Madea has a very questionable reputation.

|
2/20/2007 9:27:49 PM |
Amidst all the furor about obscenity and backstabbing
and embarrassment to all Liberians, seems like everyone
is totally forgetting that Knuckles brought all this
pain by his own actions.
Yes, his apology was heartfelt and humbling, but if he
had chosen to exercise this humility BEFORE taking
liberties with an underaged girl, we could have been
discussing the merits of Ellen''s recent visit, instead
of following the US into the valley of the shadow of
hypocrisy.
Ellen Johnson has now had one disgraced speaker followed
by a now disgraced acting minister.
Maybe she needs to make less foreign trips and pay
closer attention to her so called inner circle. |
|
2/20/2007 10:06:23 PM |
whats in the heart the body will do. I am sad to say
that Knuckles is not the only one. It seems to be a
disease with the men in that country. Seem to me less
TALK should be going on about stopping this disgraceful
practice and more EFFORT need to be spent arresting and
convicting these predators. See.. this is a common
practice for them,so its going to take drastic measures
to put a stop to it. And not just in government,in the
liberian society as a whole. But I guess this will be a
slow bleed since the predators are your family
member,lover,co-worker or ally. Shame on us all. Whats
going to happen to the future of young Liberia? Will
they too wrisk away two hundred thousand of its own
people? God forbid. We need to stop pimpin our children
and start back protecting them at all cost. |

|
2/20/2007 11:12:08 PM |
The only thing that Mr. Knuckles is guilty of is
"adultery" and if his wife has chosen to forgive him,
then the public needs to allow his family to heal. I
don''t think he needs to step down because the fact his,
he is well qualified and competent to continue working
in his current capacity. What needs to happen is that
Edwin Snowe needs to go back and get his high school
education; Mardea White needs to quit being a "gold
digger" and put her education into better use. She would
have never dated Snowe in normal times and it''s sad
that she let a man of Snowe''s calibre bring her to such
disgrace! |
|
2/20/2007 11:18:44 PM |
I think Liberians should be looking toward modesty and
honesty instead of returning to those dirty deeds that
people once participated in and have denounced. I think
Knuckles should be thinking about his family that has
been pull apart than looking to the maintenance of his
job. It is so shocking to see a man of such high esteem
involved in such an act. IT IS A SHAME TO OUR
COUNTRY...I don''t think that such a think should have
been published. A Student in Beijing China |

Are we going to empower incompitent black mailers who
were also killers over someone who choses to have sex
with two women? What is liberia hoping to gain by firing
knuckels? How many times has snowe and his wife been
married seperately? Doesn''t this say something? Let us
not spite our nose and spoil our face. Today it is
Knuckels tomorrow its you and me. I am very happy that
he did not play by their rules. this is a good reason
for snowe never in his life to take public office in
LIberia even if he decides to go to Harvard universtiy
after this. Let us take the character of the two men
here as an issue. WHO IS THE GREATER EVIL LIBERIA? |

The Knuckles case is a serious one taking into
consideration the campaign against sexual exploitation
and abuse(SEA), the workshop and finances spend on the
discouragement of SEA by the UN and other int''l
partners, taking into consideration Willie''s position
in the Government, he should be of good example to
morales in the Liberian society.
Mr. Knuckles, with this public riducles can never serve

It''s about time that these unbecoming practices are
ceased in Liberia. That it can be said that it''s his
private life is beyond me. After having served for more
than 40 years in the "public and private sectors, I
would think that he should know by now that there is no
"private or public" life for such a person. You become a
public affair. Secondly, how could a married man of "37
years" get involved in an orgy to the point where he
agreed to have himself filmed? Did he really think that
it would never have "come to the light"? And he is a
senior in his church?!! No doubt, serving communion? How
disgusting!! Well, it just goes to prove that you can
mock man and never GOD. People need to be responsible
for their acts!!
The whole thing is a typical example of what our society
is as I don''t dare say "has become". Tell me, are we
truly surprised by what we have endured over the past 27
years? It''s time that these practices are STOPPED!!!! |
|
2/21/2007 6:43:18 AM |
I agree 100% with Avery. It is a private matter and no
laws were broken so Mr. Knuckles did the right thing to
stand up to Snowe blackmail. |
|
2/21/2007 7:03:43 AM |
IT IS KNUCKLES TODAY, BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT EVREY
BIG MEN IN LIBERIA DURING PRE.TALYOR TIME UP TO NOW WE
HAVE SUCH PEOPLE IN LIBERIA DOING THE SAME THING.FINALLY
I THANK HE SHOULD REGIGN |
|
2/21/2007 7:14:59 AM |
I agree with Clency Avery that Mr. Knuckles did not
commit any crime. His effectiveness and capabilities as
a cabinet member should be the only the yard stick used
in this instant. When people engage in covert behaviour
to expose other people "sexual" activities, that stinks,
and should be frown upon. |
|
2/21/2007 7:33:37 AM |
I''m very digusted in what Mardea did to Mr Knuckles.
She have known this family for a very long time. I think
she should have considered Mrs. Knuckles''s feelings.
This is a very dignified woman, and I know if the shoe
was on the other foot, she would have NEVER done it. My
very dear friend is a child of the Knuckles. They are in
my prayers. |
|
2/21/2007 8:20:09 AM |
Mr. Knuckles did the right thing by not resigning, and
there is no reason why he should. He violated no laws,
there are no indications that these women in the picture
were forced, he did not perform the sex acts in his
office or any public location. He simply did what we all
do all the time, except that he made another choice,
that is, he prefers having sex with two women at the
same time instead of one at a time. This is a matter of
choice and he should not be castigated for that. Maybe,
this is how he gets excited.
The contention that Mr. Knuckles must resign his
position on moral grounds is pure nonsense. First, there
is a difference between morality and politics. Second,
Mr. Knucles never claimed that he was moral compass in
our society and the last time I checked, we did not have
one in Liberia.
We are subject to our human inperfections ad are guilty
of the act that Mr.Knucles participated in. Those
calling for the resignation of Knucles on moral grounds
cannot and should not attempt to claim any moral high
grounds and play the role of sanctimonious priests
passing judgements on moral grounds.
Knuckles has to answer to his God and his family and
that is enough. He has been victimized and his privacy
rights violated when his very private acts done in the
comfort of his home were exposed. My only disappointment
is that knucles, with all his wealth, should have found
himself some better looking women that fat, flabby
stomach piece of.... he had in that bed and that
charcoal crap he was banging from the rear. |
|
2/21/2007 8:28:00 AM |
To safe the country further embrassement, I suggest that
Mr. Willis Knuckles steps down. |
|
2/21/2007 8:35:28 AM |
I strongly feel that this act is babaric. But equally
so, sex is sex. There is nothing beautiful about it. The
two or more individuals having sex can choose what to
do. It is a dirty sport.
Mr. Snowe said that he had given 1 week to certain
individuals including Mr. Knuckles to speak the truth or
he would bring it out. What I want to know is whether by
bringing Mr. Knuckles private life, something I know
that Mr. Snowe had done even wrose, into the lamplight
the truth? Secondly, I think you should leave this
comments protion open for viewer''s comments instead of
the listing you have above. It is like helping people to
decide.
It is true that the wrose people to deal with are the
half educated ones. |
|
2/21/2007 8:49:19 AM |
This man is a disgrace to society.Let him know that he
is a public servent and so he has no private life. Let
him resign or the president better fire him to maintain
her respect. OR ELSE------- |
|
2/21/2007 9:18:12 AM |
Please be quiet! The man can do what he want''s in the
privacy of his own home. Last I checked, he didn''t
break any rules by sleeping with 2 or more women. Of
course, his wife would have another take on that. All
you folks sit back and throw stones like you all are
innocent. Yeah right! |
|
2/21/2007 9:56:46 AM |
His statement of apology to his family, friends and the
church was the right thing to do. It is an unfortunate
situation and we as Liberians are embarrass by such an
explicit sexual act. I am certain that we can get pass
this and still hold some respect for Mr. Knuckles. Like
Mr.Avery correctly said, he''s not the only OLD MAN in
Liberia that is guilty of such act. As a hint to those
who are pushing that he resigns his post-you might want
to take a walk down memory lane because there is not a
single Liberian man who has never in his life gone after
a young girl. And speaking of young girls, those in the
picture should be very ashame of themselves, they are
not less than 18yrs and were not forced into doing what
they did. It just shows that they lack dignity for
themselves. |
|
2/21/2007 10:22:59 AM |
It must have been the worst day for Knuckles, his family,
other relativees and friends when the picture surfaced.
Who are these people at the Inquirer? Journalists are
fond of saying, " the public has the right to know." Did
the public want to know ? Did the children of Liberia
want to see their Minister nicked in the papers? What a
sad period in a place we love to call our home.
|
|
2/21/2007 10:42:47 AM |
I believe an Independent Commission with Subpoena power
must be formed by the Solicitor General to see if a
Crime was committed by any of the people in the photo,
by outsider for political purpose or for any other
reason. The investigation must be take place in thirty
days and if it is discovered that a crime was committed,
those responsible must bear the full burden of the Law.
A situation as we have on hand must not be dealt with
only in the present term. We have to set example to
avoid repeats in the future. Resignation or Dismissal
will be the best solution if all we want is a quick fix
to this problem. For me, whether one resigns or is
dismissed, an investigation must take place.

I think that he was sorry for the exposure of his acts,
but not the act itself. What matters is that he does the
work he was appointed to do, and his private life will
be dealt with by his God. The exposure of the sinful act
was a penalty. (the wages of sin is death) In addition,
let us simple deal with Knucles and leave the President
out of it. I''m sure she will handle him according to
the Law and the Executive Mansion "Code of Ethics" |
|
2/21/2007 12:34:59 PM |
He should have never apologized nor resigned and let
sleeping dogs lie. It is nobody''s business what that
man does in his spare time, especially in the privacy of
his own home.
The only person that is truly affected here in my
opinion is his wife. The children and rest of the family
may empathize with her, but this is an issue between a
husband and his wife....... no other parties!!!!!!
My advice to him is: Do not relent. Sue the
prepatrators. Drag them through the courts. I don''t
care how busy you are make the time for them. They need
to think twice before they ever try a stunt like this
again. This is total nonsense.
Now on the other hand, if any of the girls are minors,
Ellen needs to set an example by implementing the
"statutory rape" law that is on the books and prosecute
him to the full extent of the law.
I am a Liberian female and am all for consensual sex
between adults, but the issue of parents allowing their
young children to support the family via prostitution,
or older men raping little babies(sorry guys wait until
she reaches the age of majority and she is free game). I
beleive that the President needs to set an example
starting with him and let''s sit back and watch what
happens after that.
We as a people should strive to keep our children (all
Liberian children) regardless of their social status
children.
Thanks.

Congratulations! You are a serious Liberian. They forget
too quickly. Liberian men follow very young (13-yrs
old)teenagers. Little children! They rape our poor
people children and leave them with babies or sometimes,
the little girls even die! No good men! Can they talk
about Willis Knuckles having sex with women who are used
to such performances? These women were not under duress.
They were having fun.
Liberians better get serious and try to improve their

Mr. Knuckles has disgraced Liberia, and for that he
should resign immediately. This is the time for
President Johnson to prove to the nation and the world

disgusting. I hope that he will seek psychiatric help. |

This ia a disgrace for the nation. One thing I can say
is that one evil seed planted can yeild thousand. Let
stand by to see more terrible things be expossed. The
president should never had allowed her children to start
a fight, fron the legislative branch and from my point
she consented because she remained slient. Now that war
is starting on ever front who knows what will happen
next? May God forgive us, may he give our mother God
fearing people that will help her make right and Godly

therefore is distruction. Let justicce be done for the

I man that commits such an aggregious act has no respect
for his family, no respect for his colleagues, and no
respect for the position for which he is serving. If
Liberians put up with such a behavior, then we are no
better than Mr. Knuckles and that reality is
disheartening, and pitiable. People who show such gross
disregard for the trust put in them to hold such an
esteem position should not be allowed to serve the
public interest. He should save the president the
trouble and tender his resignation. She is trying to be
loyal to him, but he in turn should do the same and
leave the office. There should be no reason why his
behavior should affect the work she has and is doing on
behalf of the people of Liberia. This is a time for
seriousness in Liberia, and we need serious people. Mr.
Willard Knuckles is not a serious man so I say let him
go. Madam president, don''t let your administration
which is just starting to form it''s footing be
sidetracked by scandals such as these. It is time for
everyone to carry their own load. Let Mr. Knuckles bear
his bnurden. |

Well, Knuckles apology is should be accepted by all
Liberians as a sign of honesty. However, the exposure
has done a great damage to his character, embarrassed
his family, Government and friends. I sympathize with
him. Notwithstanding, Knuckles will have to resign cause
to save the Government from ridicule. If he does not
resign, and the Government doesnot dismiss him, it will
have a negative impact on the Government seriousness to
deal with sexual exploitation of women. It''s already
been percieved by detractors of the Sirleaf Johnson led
administration that the Government is witch hunting it
precieved opponents as it is going with the corruption
case. I*f Knuckles don''t resign or dismiss, and Greaves
is not investigated based on the same UN report that
have other former NTGL officails undergoing
investigation and subsequently prosecution,it will be
difficult to not believe that some kind of witch hunting
is going on.The UN report cannot be authentic for Bryant
and others and erroneous for Greaves. I support the
Sirleaf Johnson Administration but my support and many
other support that the Sirleaf Johnson Administration
recieved is based on our conviction that she can make a
difference.Anything short of that could have
ramification not good for a country just coming out of
civil war. These many issues are a challenge that
President Sirleaf Johnson will have to deal with even
handedly to prove her detractors wrong and gain more
support both locally and internationally.

base violence against women, because in itself is an
abnormal act, using two women at the same time, the

Threesome is nothing new in Liberia. Perhaps, from the
President down to the office boy have had "gang sex".
Back then it was the norm. The President nor his
cabinets did not protrayed themselves as saints. As a
result, the standard of immoriality conducts were
accepted as proper in society.
Contrary, to the Ellen Johnson led government, she ran
on the platform to eradicate curruptions, respect the
rights of women, child abuse etc..If you are not
prepared to walk the walk, than shut up or put up. Ellen
came in throwing stones and names calling. But, she soon
to find out that she is surrounded by glass houses.

Already the negative impact of Mr. Knuckles behavior has
detracted our attention from President Sirleaf’s
marvelous achievement of getting a major part of our
national Debt written off. This is an achievement of
monumental proportion as the amounts under consideration
are quite substantial. At this time in our history, we
should be focusing profoundly on what just transpired
through the debt relief and focusing on the positive
impacts it will yield for our nation. Instead, the
continued presence of Willis in her Government is
detracting us from this important moment in our history.
Willis surrendered leadership by his indiscretion and
got caught, and therefore need to make way for fresh
leadership to assist the president with her state
responsibility. The man has lost his respect. As it also
says, we lead, follow, or drop out. In this case, Willis
pretty much dropped out by the wrong choices that he
made. He needs to move on to other private endeavors.
His continued presence near President Sirleaf is quite a
distraction from her good leadership. We Liberians want
to focus on the important issues relating to nation
building, i.e.: like the recent debt relief, and other
positive things that are happening in our country.
I want to also mention that the person or persons
responsible for putting this photo out there should be
persecuted by the full extent of the Liberian law. A lot
of Liberian children lost their innocence the day they
saw it. They have in effect been abused, and this should
not be looked upon with any degree of lightness. The
perpetrators must be located, and prosecuted for
distributing for public consumption such vile and
obscene material. |

are telling a lie. The Justice Ministry will go after
them. Justice will be served. There are differences

Well in my own opinion, I feel that this whole issue is
all about some high level of POLITICS, as Politic is not
for tin skin people, some few weeks back it was all
about Hon.Murray, and people had the worse to say, and
after few days all just die down. So I advise that the
Hon. Acting Minister stand his ground and try to protect
his character, it takes so many years to build a
character,to get it distroyed in split seconds.
I gave a great appreciation to the Ministry of Justice
for their role played, and also Press Union for the
action taken against the media institutions, but I take
acception to the statement that the Minister should
resign, if they intend such then there is no need of
them finding Radio Veritas or quoting ethics of what the
union stands for.

I am of the strongest conviction that the honourable
Minister of state did not do justice and sincerity in
his apology by not stepping down immediately to save the
state and president from futher embrassement. He without
remorse praised instead the president, government
officials, families, friends and well wishers for their
support, but I expected Mr. knuckles to have apologized
which he did in pretence, then thanked the president for
the confidence reposed in him during his tenure as
minister of state and the level of cooperation he
enjoyed and experiance from her office and that of the
other ministries and agencies of government, after which
he should have said because of the revelation today and
the immorality it depicts, I hereby resign as minister
of state.
In the absence of all these mentioned supra, i am still
of the highest and unmistakable confidence that Mr.
Knuckles has not done the right and honourable thing,
rather he has created more pressure for the public to
protest even more his resignation then to do it
voluntarily.
Mr. knuckles I presonally plead with you to listen to
the voice of reason and save the face of your family,
state, and the liberian people by showing sincerity in
your apology by resigning now. anything short of this
will be a complete mockery for the emerging democracy

Sam Dean made the following statement, He noted that
this government cannot be preaching against sexual
exploitation and abuse while senior officials of
government are engaging in it. “This doesn’t auger well
for our society,” he said. And that Willis'' actions
were bad and inhumane. Does he have any idea what he is
speaking of? These were women consented, which is very
obvious. This is how many of the women in Liberia make a
living. Why be ignorant? This is simply prostituion
which is the world''s oldest prfession. Sam Dean
conspired against Willis with the Snowe''s, simple as
that. The real problem here is that Willis got caught.
That is all it is. Our people are too narrow minded and
will believe just about anything that is presented to
them. Sam Dean does not have a case against Willis,
regardless of what he says. |

personal life and people do that in the united states to
make you shame infront your family and friends. That
doesn''t require him losing his job.He just got to live

minded about the modern world. I think liberians need to
accept all races, religions and sexualities. What he

I believe that the exposure of the pictures is an issue
of morality that Mr. Knuckles needs to to discuss with
the Lord and his wife. I don''t believe that anyone in
Liberia is really in the position to cast the first
stone. The exposure of the pictures do undermine his
position as an authoritative figure, but, the
circustances should be considered. Aside from being a
married man with grown kids, no one really has to answer
to another individual about their sexual escapades with
other consenting adults. I think that what the citizens
of Liberia should be concerned about is the obvious evil
intent and hatred that the people who exposed the photos
portrayed. They should be exposed and questioned about
such behavior. Is there a prosecution law in Liberia
about evil intent to harm or villify? What''s next?
Paying someone or a group of assassins to murder someone
that you are mad or angry with. As Liberians, we should
really begin to look at the bigger picture and to hold
each other accountable to the extent that their actions
really warrant it. Looking at the superficial picture
and creating a commotion about it does not really
address the real issue.

Mr.Knuckles said what he said just to get the newly
invented gun of war fair by mr.
mrs. snowe off his back. The snowes are still angry for
their president charles taylor who had them enriching
themselves.
snowe is not good for the country. This man had admitted
that he has more bank
accounts in the U.S.and Europe, besides Lebenna.
The media should be on the back of snowe to return the
Liberian People money to take care of the Liberian girls
instead of
enriching themselves.
Liberian media and people look at the timing of snowe
forced out down fall and
the timing of blackmailing Mr. Knuckles.
Why was it two girs? Because one could not
force the man clothes of him. Mr. knuckles
should have reported it the next day, but no body was
going to believe him.
The media should have being praising the
president right now, but instead choose to turn away
from the good blessings Liberia is receiving just
because of Mrs.Johnson
If Mr.Weah had become president as snowe
wants, he would now being asking Liberian
to raly together to pay its foreign debt
while snowe get the people money in his personal
accounts all over the world.

This whole issue of Mr. Knuckles is just a reflection of
what went on in Liberia during the war. Many stories
have been told about the exploitations of Women and
young girls - as young as seven years old being raped,
which lead to the deaths of many. I may be wrong, but
analyzing Mr. Knuckles’ facial expression, (no emotions)
and the holding of the lady’s hand, it looks like a
professional photo-opts to be used for profit-making in
the pornographic market. This photo looks very cleverly
choreographed. Could it be that Mr. Knuckles
strategically placed the camera in the room and had the
girls joined him in that quest? There is a lot of money
to be made in cyberspace in the pornographic business.
Think about that. I hope I’m wrong. Could it very well
be that there are other pornographic photos of young
Liberian girls/women that may have already been
transmitted throughout cyberspace? President Sirleaf
this looks like a situation that requires a very deep
investigation. The world is keenly watching this,
especially given your proclamation during your campaign
to protect women’s rights. |

Any body will agree with me that Knuckles apology
suggests that he did what is shown in the newspaper and
the internet.
It is understood that this is furstrating and needs
immediate apology/attention to all those
concern. But what any innocent individual could do first
is to state your position as to whether you are the doer
or not then to quickly apologize in manner like Mr.
Knuckles.
However, I would also like to suggest that those two
girsls and the unnamed ligislator be brought to book and
lounge a massive campaign in bringing the doer to light.
On the contrary such issue will help to weed out immoral
individuals who pretend to be God fearing in our nation.
I strongly belive there are more knuckles in the street
corners of our nation."ONE DAY THEY TOO WILL SHOW THEIR

|
2/24/2007 11:29:22 AM |
This is a bad precedent being set by the president by
not asking Knuckles to resign his post for his
indiscretion. Public officials should be held at a
higher standard in the new Liberia if we are to built a
strong and reputable society with responsible public
servants. What was status quo in the pass shouldn''t be
condone by this president or any other institution that
requires public trust. Apologizing for his unwholesome
behavior is not going to cut it. He (Knuckles) needs to
leave his post and save the president any further
embarassment of this unfortunate situation by a senior
cabinet member. A functioning democracy must seek to be
accountable to its people and when the public trust is
broken, the axe must fall where necessary.
Finally, I would like to admonish the president to set
another precedent by firing anyone who would put her
administration in dispute and not turning a blind eye to
appease a particular constituent(s) in her party. This
kind of behavior is un acceptable to the Liberian people
who deserves better after many years of abuse of public
trust by government officias. |

IT IS ANOTHER DISGRACE FOR OUR NATION DURING THIS
RECOVERING PERIOD. THE KNUCKELS'' LIFESYLE IS NOT
ACCEPTED IN OUR SOCIETY. THE SIN OF THE WICKED MEN IN
LIBERIA ARE COMING TO LIGHT. I AM SURE MORE ARE PENDING
FOR THOSE THAT ARE STILL HIDDING AND PLAYING WITH THE
ALMIGHTY GOD. GOD DOES NOT LIKE UGLY. THEIR CHILDREN ARE
ATTENDING HIGHER INSTITUTIONS IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES BUT
ON THE CONTRARY,THE ARE SEXUALLY EXPLOITING THE DAUGHTRS

POOR GIRLS. |

Frankly, it does not involve the day-to-day management
of government. His personal life should be the perview
of his wife (solely), and a nation who should be
demanding their government to continue to make
incremental push to alleviate the despicable conditions
civilize people have to endure, rather than indulge in
the subject of morals. As far as we know, he didn''t sell
drugs, he didn''t compromise the nation''s secrets, if
any. We as a nation, will be better served, if we hold
our elected officers to accountability, and also
maintaining a strong degree of certifiability. |
|

I think the photograph is a disgrse to the person(s) who
posted it.First of all the women are not under
age.Secondly, that''s his private sex life. If he had
posted the photo on his private or Goverment computer,
then we have a point. But if some one else set him up and
photograpg him, just for political gains then that
person is disgusting. After all he''s a man , he should
have sex any ways want it.

This once respected gentleman of the Liberian community
has admitted to the immoral act he had perpetuated as a
public figure, especially as the presidential affair
minister to a president who had vowed to protect the
abuse of women. Mr. Knuckles will safe our country a
disgrace by resinging his position as a minister of
State and return to his private life to be in complete
control of his immoral activities as a privite citizen.
The purpose of his statement is interesting, to expose
the Snowes for allegedly pubishing the photo and their
dishonesty;
but that is less of a concerm to many Liberians. The
concern is, this man who by accepting to serve as
minister in the Liberian government is now a public
property and his deportment and actions must conform to
the highest moral standard to move our war ravaged
country forward. Prostituting and demoralizing the
downtrodding women of Liberia is unacceptable and Willie
should be ashamed of himself to discribed his
disgraceful act as private. If President Sirleaf fails
to dismiss this man, that will send a wrong signal to
not only to the Liberians but the International
Community about her sincerity protect women and her
ability to move Liberia farword. Mr. Knukles act is not
about the deeds and misdeeds of the Snowes. Let him
continue with his private life as a businessman. He
might have misjudged the Liberian people, let all
remember that yesterday is not today.

It is disgrace for our dear country to have such
indecent man like Willie Knuckles to be in leadership.
What a shame for the government to still have him on
board. This whole episode is not about who knuckles is,
it is about the image of our country. President Sirleaf
will do herself and her administration a favor if she
will move quickly to get Willis Knuckles out of her
cabinet and bring facelift to our nation. The World is
watching you Madam president. This is disgusting,
inhuman, unchristians as he claimed to be a church goer.
I call on all decent Liberians to speak up on this
inmoral behavior.
I read with disbelieved the country''s solicitor general
defending such an inmoral conduct; what a shame and
disgrace for our country again.

Why label "boy willis" a disgrace to the Liberian
Nation. After all isn''t all Liberian men either a
thieve or an adulterer. What knuckles has done should
come as no surprise to anyone. Tolbert wanted the age of
consent lowered to 12. When he did not get his way he
simply built a girl hostel on his farm. It is customary
for Liberian government ''big shots" to have two
sometimes three sets of families. In the US, visit any
state with major Liberian communities, everybody sleeps
with each other. History does repeat itself. So to
speak. |

If Mydea will do that to your family member all because
she want her snowe to be reinstated that is a shame.
Knuckles should take responsibility for his action and
do the right thing. Apology to the nation and his wife
and children and step down. That is the right thing to
do. Right now he doesn''t need to be working, but rather
making it up to his wife for 35years. My advice to her
is if she knows that he has been this way a long time
ago than she needs to save your marriage and make him
work toward that also. Knuckles I am very sorry you got
caught this time. Please allowed serve has a listen and
pray this time for God deliverance and move on and
continue to be a great man to you wife, children and
nation. I forgive you my prayer goes out to you.

Willis, You are a true Liberian patriot. Do not let the
likes of the Mydea and Edwin Snowe or any good for
nothing Liberian person ever do that to you or anyone
else.
We pray God''s forgiveness and that you will soon bounce
back to serve this nation in other capacity. But for
Mydea and Edwin to publicly deny their involvement????
They are our private demons that we will have to get rid
off as we did their chief patron Charles Taylor. The
gangster days are over. As God is above and Willis has
repented justice is sure. I am not going to waste my
time writing anything else because Mydea and Edwin were
nobodies before Taylor''s brutal reign and will still be
nothing with their blood money. You''ll days are numbers

Willis Knuckles has not only let himself down and his
family, but he has let Liberia down.I believe that he is
a brainchild of the culture of infedility that
characterized Liberias past.Knuckles and anyone in

public office must be punished.Liberia cannot afford to
tolerate such nonsense no matter where it comes

We as humans can not read the man''s mind to know

we should start thinking about our country and not
ourselves which mean putting our country first.yes what
mr.Kunckles did was wrong but what the publisher did to
mr. Kunckles was not only to him but to the country as
well. what will the outsiders think about us, its a
shame a big want too for that matter.yes he is resigning
and everybody is pointing finger at him today but
remember that we have more people in the government and
in the country that are in those kinds of acts not
because theres are hidden for now.also remember the
government is we the people not just want person, we
must stop fighting each other and find ways to work
together as one family. and this is a lesson for
everyone in high position to be were. like Jesus said in
the bible he without stone cast the first stone. know
that once you have cast the first stone yours is next.
lets love our country first the others will do the same. |

Mr. Knuckles'' resignation should serve as a warning to
those in position to help inforce the laws of the

from his resignation speech, it looks like he''s trying
to blame The Press for the total disrespect for his very
public position in the government of the country. no one
is above the law!! The press should be free to publish
any lude act performed by any and ALL citizens of the
democratic nation of Liberia. Hello... freedom of

kNUCKLES NEED TO ASK HIMSELF "WAS IT WORTH IT?" BUT IN
MY VIEW.. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME. SEE KNUCKLES HAD
TO HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR SOME TIME, THATS WHY IT WAS
SO EASY TO CATCH HIM. BUT NEVER ONCE HAVE I HEARD HIM
SAY THAT HE WAS SORRY, ONLY THAT HE REGRET THAT HE WAS
CAUGHT. AND FROM THERE THE BLAME GAME BEGAN. BUT IN THE
PHOTO THERE WAS NO MENTION OF SOMEONE STANDING OVER HIM
WITH A GUN FORCING HIM TO DO IT. IT IS SO SAD THAT
AFRICANS AS A WHOLE (AFRICAN AMERICANS INCLUDED) REFUSE
TO LOVE THEMSELVES. WE ARE RACISTS AGAINST
OURSELVES,CAN''T STAND OUR OWN IMAGE. THE SHAME OF IT
ALL IS THAT IT IS NOT JUST IN THE GOVERMENT IT IS IN THE
LIVES OF OUR CHILDREN REGRETFULLY ON A DAY TO DAY BASES.
WE NEED TO AS PARENTS STOP PIMPIN OUT OUR CHILDREN. THE
LIBERIAN MOTHER IS TRADING HER DAUGHTERS VIRTUE FOR A
BAG OF RICE OR THE ASSURANCE OF NEXT MONTS MEAL,THE
BLACK AMERICAN MOTHER IS TRADING HER DAUGHTERS VIRTUE
FOR CRACK ROCK GOD FORBID!!! AND BY TURNING A BLIND EYE
WE BELIEVE IT JUSTIFIES THE UNFORGIVABLE BETRAYAL
BETWEEN MOTHER AND CHILD. AND WHAT ABOUT THE YOUNG BOYS
THAT HAVE FELL VICTIM TO THE BEAST THAT SODOMIZED THEM
AND TOOK AWAY THEIR MANHOOD? WHO IS CRYING OUT FOR THEM?
WE NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR CHILDREN AT ALL COST. WE AS A
PEOPLE CANNOT BLAME ANY ONE ELSE FOR THE CRIMES THAT WE
HAVE INFLICTED UPON OURSELVES IN LIBERIA OR ANYWHERE
ELSE AROUND THE WORLD. WE SEE THE EXPOSURE OF KNUCKLES
AND WE WONDER WHY THE REST OF THE WORLD LOOK AT US FOR
LESS THAN WE ARE WORTH. ITS ONE THING FOR SOMEONE ELSE
TO RAPE,EXPLOIT,DISGRACE AND HUMILIATE YOUR CHILD. BUT
FOR YOU THE BODYGUARD,THE PROTECTOR,THE UPHOLDER OF THE
PEACE,THE P.A.R.E.N.T TO COMMIT THE CRIME WHO IS IT TO
BLAME? |

appropriate for the newspaper to have published the

the photos. The newspaper was not registered as a porno
newspaper to publish such photos. As a journalsit myself

to say that if the government had issue with the paper,
it should have gone to the courts to seek injuction on
the paper instead of arbitrarily closing down the paper
using the police. |

Mr. Knuckles has stepped Down! Did it add another penny
in Mydea''s or Edwin''s pocket? Mydea is a self-centered
gold digger who''s sin will find her out. Her reputation
stinks as it is, so she''s trying to get members on
board with her. Granted, Mr. Knuckles commited
"adultery" and not "rape" but is it any worse than what
Mydea has done. Edwin Snowe knows that Mydea slept with
Charles Taylor and many others but both are married for
their own selfish reasons, which they have exhibited.
She, being a mother and a so-called wife should have
considered Knuckles'' wife and children but I guess
since she abandonded her kids to ex-husband Roland Carey
for Archie Bernard who disappointed her, family values
didn''t play an integral part in her decision making. I
wish all parents would remove their kids from her school
because they may be subjected to viewing pornograhphic
materials; The UN needs to issue a travel ban on Mydea
since she''s the source for transporting monies stolen
from the government by her uneducated, criminal minded
husband! Much like the other blogger, don''t throw
stones if you live in a glass house! My prayers to the
Knuckles'' family. God Bless Mr. Knuckles and may God''s
love continue to over-shadow him and his beloved family. |

Do we have a code of ethics for the journalism

Liberians are very hypocritical! Is Willis Knuckles the
first one to commit adultry or to engage in a threesome?
Is it because his picture was posted to the internet?
Bill Clinton was President of the great United States

our skeletons in our closets. He who is without sin, let
him throw stones. |
|
3/1/2007 8:34:22 PM |
His admmittance and steping down was in the right
direction, it show a sign of desire to change. My
concern is the publisher of the aticle, where is his
moral and ethical standing in his profession and
civilized life? Where is his sense of direction in a
civilized world? He has brought more disgrace to us
Liberians all over the world than the Knuckles.
Jurnalists need to have their own ethics or morals in
their personal lives besides their professional ethical
code. Liberian jurnalists need to do more educational or
informative reporting than dirt reporting. I wonder what
school of thoughts he graduated from.

He only apologize because the photo came out. This seem
to have been his habbit of taking nude pictures. He took
the picture deliberately and never thought that it would
have come out. So his apology is just to save his face.
But the damage has been done and the scar will remain
forever within his family and friends and the Nation. He
should apologize to the ladies whose photo were taken in
the obscenity and kept. Why should one take photos of
such magnitude and don''t expect it to come out one
day??? This guy should apologize to God. |

sufficient. The man did not commit a crime; rather, I
believe he was set up. I will say this though, I believe
he was too careless, and rather trusting to have
exploited himself that much. I would not be judgmental,
as there are many other Knuckleses in our midst. I also
want to think that our president might understand the
human frailness, which at some point affects each of us.
No crime was committed. These were three consenting
adults. What more can they do about this? The ghost of
their act will will haunt them for a long time. Leave
them alone. |

It is about time that we make it a practice to expose
all of such people who use public office and funds for
such unwholesome practices. He should be persucuted as
opposed to the journalist being the one now who has been
accused of violating the penal code. Can we assume that
those who want to charge the journalist with violation
of the penal code are in the same practice as such want
to persecute him to serve as a deterence. We should call
a spade a spade and stop supporting such unwholesome
sinful practices which brings curses on the land. The
word of God says that "if my people who are call by my
name with change from their wicked ways and call on name
and prayer, then I will hear from heaven and heal their
land. It is not enough to pray, but more so to change
from those disgusting and disgraceful behavior which

When a public official''s reputition is damaged as in
the case of Mr. Knuckles, and knows the same to be true,
the honorable thing is to immediately resign instead of
waiting for public pressure. It is time that Liberian
officials get to know that the life of public official
is subject to public scrutiny. In other words, the
public is always interested in what a public official
does; even what may be private matter is of public
concerns. This is what Liberian officials should learn,
and be able to live above reproach; to become role
model, and truly show to the world that they are worthy
of the positions they occupy. Until Liberians realize
that the world has changed and things will never be the
same, the risks of being left behind as the worst, least
developed,or least civilized are great. What most
Liberians do not seem to know or realize is that what is
done in Liberia, a little African Republic, is a matter
of interest to the world. The world is a single global
village now, and so the people of Liberia should get out
of thinking that they are just by themselves and that
what they do in the country is only for Liberians. The
sad thing is that all the negative things coming out of
Liberia affects the country abroad; including Liberians
living outside, the children of Liberia attending school
abroad, and well meaning Liberians who are trying to
lift the image of the country. Knuckle''s case is gone
and burried; because Liberian have a short memory. The
question is, who is next? |

The fact that what happens in an individual''s private
life, whether he \/she is a public official, should be a
reflection of the measure of his/her service makes very
little sense. While I do not condone his behaviour, I do
not think he should resign his post. I think, however,
people who hold publice offices, and who have stolen
public property and converted them to their own use
should resign their posts and brought to justice.

The mistakes that Knuckles made is good for Government
offical to keep their eyes open and stop sleeping with
teenagers.

Knucles apology was very nice and honest to the Liberian
people as a hole and also to the Official of Government.

Knuckle''s apology was very obnoxious and his behavior
was highly irresponsible and criminal. He should be
extradited and criminally prosecuted for offending the
Liban laws.

First of all, Mr. Knuckles did what he did on his own
private time. He did not owe the Liberian people any
apology. He owed it only to his wife, children, grand
children and his immediate family.
The person that encouraged that dirt to be place on the
internet for the world is the one who owes the Liberian
people, his family, President Johnson and Mr. Knuckles
an apology. |

The President has demonstated how the nake name"Iron
Lady is just a farce". She should have outrightly
dimissed Knuckles. Nothing more, Nothing less. |

If there was nothing criminal about this then why is it
such a big issue. If the woman were of legal age and
were not prostitutes then this issue lies with his wife
not the public. There are bigger issues with this
country then this. |

Mr. Knuckles like many fell prey to what can be termed
his refusal to stop then an ongoing investigation. Had
he used his influence to stop Snowe''s invesigation that
photo would never had come in the public. He was sold by
his own blood. One can conclude that he put his Country
first by the allowing the investigation of Snowe to go
''ahead''.
There are many in Liberia who ar doing worst things; No
one person can decide the way another should live his
life; Knuckles did not use his office for his sexual
pleasure. So what is the crime? |

all. |

What Mr. Knuckles did behind closed doors (to his
knowledge) is not as bad as those who photographed his
private affair and published it in public newspaper. |
